GreonGraf

Although I’m based in London since the 90s I was born and raised in Ireland.

Thinking about a suitable name for my photography business I got inspiration from the Irish language. The Irish word for photograph is “grianghraf” from the words “grian” meaning the sun, and “ghraf” meaning a graph or image. That’s what photography is all about. Photographs capture images of the light and colours we see. We use these images to keep and share important memories.

I thought “grianghraf” suited the kind of photographs I wanted to take. But, it was a confusing word for non-Irish speakers, and the pronunciation would be a problem. So “GreonGraf” is just a simpler spelling that makes pronunciation easier.
